YAMAL 200 №1 Satellite

Built for Gazcom by Energia Rocket & Space Corp. in cooperation with Alcatel, Alenia Spazio and NEC, two Yamal-200-series spacecraft were launched to 90E and 49E in the geostationary orbit by a single Proton launch vehicle on November 24, 2003.

As part of the Yamal satellite telecommunications and broadcasting fleet, these Yamal-200 satellites provide advanced services to the Russian gas industry and Russian and international customers. Such services invlude voice and fascimile, videoconferencing, data, video transmission and access to the internet.

The satellites are controlled by Gazprom Satellite Systems' (public corporation) Yamal satellite flight control center located in Korolev, Moscow region.
