The Express-A4 satellite was manufactured by NPO PM (Russia) in cooperation with Alcatel Space (France). The The Express-A4 satellite provides a wide range of services: TV & radio broadcasting, telephony, data, Internet access, video conferencing, various VSAT applications.

Express-A4 covers the European part of Russia, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Eastern coast of North America. The satellite global beam also allows to provide services in South and Latin America, Africa.
