AFRICASAT-1 Satellite

The satellite Measat-1 was launched on January 12, 1996. In January 2008 the satellite was relocated to the orbital position of 46°E and renamed Africasat-1. The coverage zone includes both the territories of Africa and Europe. Under Distribution Agreement signed between Intersputnik and Measat Satellite Systems SDN BHD in July 2008 Intersputnik is appointed as an official distributor of transponder capacity on the AFRICASAT-1 satellite. The transponder capacity on Africasat-1 is best suited for Internet, telephony, data transmission.
