EXPRESS AM2 Satellite

The Express-AM2 satellite was brought into use at 80 E on June 16, 2005.

Express-АМ2 carries 16 C-band transponders and 12 Ku-band transponders. Wide beams with uniform power across the whole coverage area in C and Ku bands provide premium quality service from the Far East to eastern Europe.

Express-АМ2 is used by Russian and international operators for all types of fixed satellite service in Russia and the CIS countries such as long-distance and international telephony, access to the internet backbone, corporate and government VSAT networks, receptions and distribution of TV programming and e-learning.

The Isatel teleport (Intersputnik Holding Ltd.) operates two C- and Ku-band antenna systems intended for this satellite.

The Express-AM2 telecommunications and broadcasting satellite was ordered by RSCC and built by NPO PM in cooperation with Alcatel Espace under the 2002-2005 Satellite Fleet Renewal Project. This satellite is intended for multiservice networks (digital video and audio broadcasting ,voice services, videoconferencing, data transmission, access to the internet) and for VSAT networks.
