INTELSAT 904 Satellite

Intelsat 904 was deployed at 60° E in February 2002.

In the Ku band, Intelsat 904 has two spot beams (Spot 1 and Spot 2) covering Russia and the CIS countries with high radiated power.

In the interests of its customers, Intersputnik uses considerable resources in Spot1 for telecommunications and broadcasting.

Spot 1 on Intelsat 904 has been recently re-pointed to better cover eastern Europe, the European part of Russia, CIS countries and the Middle East. The power of the satellite is unprecedented for its coverage area making it possible to install interactive VSAT networks with 1.2m or larger antennas. With advanced modulation and encoding technologies, costs per bit can be noticeably reduced.

The resource of Spot 1 on Intelsat 904 is used by Intersputnik’s customers in corporate networks, for access to the internet, audio and video broadcasting, HD news gathering.

The Isatel Teleport (Intersputnik Holding Ltd.) is equipped with a 4.8m dual-polarization receive and transmit antenna system intended for Spot 1 and Spot 2.
