EXPRESS AM22 Satellite

The Express-AM22 satellite was brought into use at 53 E on March 9, 2004.

With its sophisticated antenna systems, this satellite boasts exceptionally high service quality and coverage uniformity.

Express-AM22 has 24 Ku-band transponders and four beams:

  • European beam;
  • Wide European beam;
  • Steerable beams 1 and 2 covering North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.

For its customers, Intersputnik leases resources in the wide European beam to offer access to the internet.

The Express-AM22 telecommunications and broadcasting satellite was ordered by RSCC and built by NPO PM in cooperation with Alcatel Espace under the 2002-2005 Satellite Fleet Renewal Project. This satellite is intended for multiservice networks (digital video and audio broadcasting, voice services, videoconferencing, data transmission, access to the internet) and for VSAT networks.
