DTH

Intersputnik’s presence on the DTH market results from cooperation with Eutelsat.

Under a ditribution agreement signed in April 2002, Intersputnik is responsible for the marketing and sales of Eutelsat’s satellite capacity and telecommunications services. For this purpose, considerable resource is used on the Eutelsat W4 satellite (36?E) to broadcast TV channels of one of the largest TV companies in the CIS.

Broadcasters interested in using DTH satellites (Hot Bird, Eurobird 9, W4) and joining the existing programming packages are offered an efficient solution for delivering the signal to one of the multifunctional teleports via satellite or cable for further transmission to a DTH satellite as a package or on a single carrier.

The Hot Bird constellation at 13? East consists of spacecraft with over 100 transponders and 660 TV and interactive channels covering 96 million homes and offices. Located just four degrees away from Eutelsat’s primary slot at 13? East, Eurobird 9 allows broadcasters to enter one of the world’s most vibrant markets of satellite TV and radio at affordable prices.

Today, arrangements are being made to transmit an inbound signal to Eurobird 9 from Moscow and provide DTH services in Europe, the European part of Russia, Baltic countries and the CIS. This project is expected to be implemented in late 2007.

For multiple reception from several satellites, Eutelsat offers new cost-effective solutions that make it possible to upgrade the existing equipment for reception from 9? E.
